SHF164 – Operating Systems
This course dives into the core responsibilities of IT professionals in managing and supporting various operatingsystems. Students will begin by exploring the complex world of IT professionals, understanding the diverse roles andchallenges in the field. The course then focuses on Windows, starting with installation, followed by maintaining thesystem for optimal performance. Students will also learn to troubleshoot both startup issues and post-startup problems,developing critical diagnostic skills. Beyond Windows, the course expands to supporting MacOS, equipping studentswith the knowledge to manage and troubleshoot Apple’s operating system. Finally, students will explore Linux andscripting, gaining hands-on experience with alternative operating systems and essential scripting techniques. Thiscomprehensive course prepares students to effectively support and manage a wide range of operating systems in anyIT environment.
