With 625 hours of in-class instruction, including over 400 hours of massage techniques and clinical practice, and 120 hours of clinical practice under the supervision of a Licensed Massage Therapist, you will gain the confidence and skills required to excel in a variety of massage therapy career opportunities. Our experienced instructors ensure that you are job-ready and well-prepared to apply your knowledge in real-world massage settings.

MT181 – Anatomy and Physiology 1: Support, Movement, and Communication
Medical terminology, introduction to the human body, skeletal and muscular systems, musculoskeletal pathologies, integumentary system and pathologies, nervous system and pathologies, endocrine system and pathologies will be taught in this section of the program.
MT182 – Anatomy and Physiology 2: Transportation, Nourishment, Elimination, and Procreation
This course teaches students the reproductive system and pathologies, cardiovascular system and pathologies, lymphatic system and pathologies, respiratory system and pathologies, digestive system and pathologies, urinary system and pathologies, and basic life support.
MT183 – Anatomy and Physiology 3: Kinesiology
Students will learn muscles of the body along with their attachments and actions, bones, and body landmarks. Basic palpation skills are developed in laboratory hands-on activities.
MT184 – Massage Therapy 1: Foundations
Students will be introduced to the world of massage through its history, proper equipment to be utilized, room set-up, safety training, standard precautions, draping, bolstering and body mechanics. Also included are self-care and nutrition, practice standards, treatment planning, pharmacology, contraindications, documentation, and evidence-based practice.
MT185 – Massage Therapy 2: Theory and Practice
Therapeutic massage theory, techniques, stretches, and joint mobilizations, table massage sequence as well as chair massage sequence will be discussed and demonstrated.
MT186 – Massage Therapy 3: Special Populations
This section will include pregnancy massage, massage for infants and children, advancing age and geriatric massage, cancer and oncology massage, massage for clients with disabilities and impairments, massage for clients with mental disorders, sports massage, hospital-based massage, and hospice massage.
MT187 – Massage Therapy 4: Clinical Applications
Students will review massage therapy basics and then proceed to advanced topics such as pain theories, orthopedic assessments, trigger points, myofascial release techniques, cupping therapy, manual lymphatic drainage, kineotaping, and massage for specific conditions including temporomandibular disorders.
MT188 – Massage Therapy 5: Eastern Practices and Hydrotherapy
Areas of discussion and demonstration will be Asian bodywork therapies of shiatsu, acupressure, Thai massage, reflexology, and lomi lomi. Also included are hydrotherapy, aromatherapy, and energetic practices such as reiki and polarity.
MT189 – Massage Therapy 6: Business and Ethics
Students will learn about codes of ethics and state law, cultural competency, business planning and development, marketing, and accounting.
MT190 – Clinical Practice
Students will be responsible for performing a minimum of 20 massages under the direction of a Licensed Massage Therapist. Students will be required to demonstrate skills learned in the program throughout the curriculum, such as an understanding of laws and ethics, client interactions, proper techniques, and treatment planning.

During the program, students gain valuable hands-on experience through supervised clinical hours in a professional massage setting. This real-world training helps reinforce classroom learning while building confidence, client communication skills, and strong professional references for future job opportunities.
You’ll complete 120 hours of supervised clinical practice in Unitech’s on-campus massage clinics—working with real clients and building hands-on confidence every step of the way.

Orientation Presentation
During orientation, students learn how Career Services will support them throughout their program. Early connections with coordinators are encouraged to maximize success.
Midpoint Assessment & Career Planning
Around the program midpoint, students complete a career assessment. Coordinators use this to guide personalized planning and keep students on track toward their goals.
Resume Development (60 Days Before Graduation)
Resume building begins 60 days before graduation. Students receive templates and one-on-one support to craft polished, job-ready resumes.
Mock Interviews & Professionalism Coaching
Before clinicals, students participate in mock interviews and receive feedback. This helps sharpen communication skills and builds confidence in professional settings.
Professional Seminars & Career Development
Students attend four seminars on job readiness, professionalism, and workplace expectations. These sessions prepare students to confidently enter the workforce.

What is traditional?
Unitech’s traditional programs are held fully on campus, providing a structured, in-person learning environment led by experienced instructors. Students attend class at one of our physical campuses, where all lectures, labs, and hands-on training are completed during scheduled class hours. This format is ideal for those who thrive in face-to-face instruction and want direct access to classroom resources, tools, and real-time support. With a consistent routine and immersive, skill-based learning, traditional programs offer a focused path to building confidence and career-ready experience.
