What makes a career as a pharmacy technician great for me?
A pharmacy technician is a great career for those who want to help people. Unlike in a medical setting, a pharmacy tech most often helps by completing the processing of medical prescriptions. Pharmacy technicians should be able to work in a team setting and maintain a good work ethic. If this sounds like you, you may be a good fit, especially if you enjoy socializing with customers.
What sort of places can I work as a pharmacy technician?
Demand for pharmacy technicians will grow faster than the national average (12%) by 2026. The majority of pharmacy techs work in retail pharmacies. Still, some may work in other places of employment including compounding pharmacies, hospitals, nursing homes, assisted living, and mental health. Hence, there are many employment opportunities for pharmacy techs.
